It is absolutely unbelievable how much technology has improved and will continue to improve. At this point as we listen to our ipods and look at our text messages we think that there is no way that technology could get any better, but it is faster then we could even imagine. Whenever I see a new ipod or a new phone come out I thin to myself, "How could these things get any better?" But they do! And they get better fast! It's just unbelievable to think that one day we really could have flying cars or one day robots could really take over the world! I can not way to see how technology can get any better then it already is, but I'm excited to see what this crazy world can create in the future.
Completing Dehli's New Subway Line: I think it's crazy that we've come this far in technology, far enough to build tunnels underground just to complete other projects across cities. It's crazier though that there we are so over populated in some areas that we have to go under the earth just to transport construction materials. Whats going to happen when we have no more room, and cant build up or dig down any more?
Its incredible how diseases are being affected by newer and newer technologies. Cataract surgery may have a new and very inexpensive alternative procedure that includes weighting the eyes to release pressure before surgery. Imagine what kind of cures we will have for disease in the next 10 or 20 years.
I think its crazy that we can develop and create cars and ways of transportation so exotically. Cars that parallel park themselves, cars that go 210+, cars that protect the ozone and more. I'm excited to see what crazy vehicle inventions will be made in the future
Natural Disasters and Sickness is destroying our world. The Oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the "Eyjafjallajokull" volcanic eruption in Iceland. These fatal tragedies occur each and everyday, whether it be on small or a large scale. Technology is becoming more advanced and is becoming a world wide phenomenon. Eventually we will be able to cure HIV and Aids, make even easier transportation for ourselves(besides cars), and convert all homes and buisnesses to solar powered energy saving our environment. A new Era of the Human Species is in affect. We shape our future.
All the pictures are amazing but my favorite one is the picture of the 6 fingered hand. I thought it was interesting because we are learning about it in biology and because my brother was born with 6 fingers too. (he had it removed)
I thought the bomb defusing robot hand was really amazing. There is movies and things with technology like this but I never thought someone could actually make it.
The pictures are amazing and make us wonder what else is out there that we can and will find. The development and science that is occurring and developing around us every day is unbelievable.
It's amazing to see something like this and then relize how small we really are in the universe. In that small area, there were nearly 10 million stars.
I think it is amazing how dogs are the best bomb detectors. Not machines, not humans, dogs. i also like the picture alot, it sows how courageous the dogs have to be to be under that much pressure and around all that confusion and noise.
I think its amazing how far technology has come. things that we can't see with our bare eyes can be seen in detail! All the pictures are amazing and I can learn something from each and one of them. One of my favorite pictures was the robot girl because it's unbelievable that the technology is so advanced it can create a robot that looks like a real person and can even do human-like astuff.
These pictures are really cool. its amazing to be able to capture images 400 times faster than the human eye. i thought that our science is extremely fascinating.
King Tut's only Grandmother: I wonder what King Tut's grandmother's life would have been like. Or even King Tut's life for that matter. When I think of Egypt and King Tut I think of Mummies, bugs that go in your skin and cats that can talk. It would have been so cool to live back then(only for a day though or a week) and get to see the advancements we have made. I can't wait for teleportation and food that you don't have to go get it just floats to you.
I find it almost unbelievable that scientists can genetically trace 3,300 year old dead DNA back to other people from the same time, and make connections proving that two corpses of that time period could be related. Also, the scientists believe that the picture of Tutankhamun's grandmother was his only grandmother; what could lead them to believe that he only had one, and how do they test the DNA to prove that they are in fact related so closely?
What I really love, are the prosthetic images. For instance, the one made for cats ankles, were amazing. Science and technology has sky-rocketed and we can do so much. I like to think that if my cat ever lost her ankles, that science would provide the prosthetic ankles she would need. I love the image that caught Oscar the cat with his metal legs, its crazy and so mind blowing.
"Oscar the Cat" It is incredible, but not surprising, that prosthetic legs are now being utilized on animals as well. The world of science and technology are progressing so fast. Now animals can benefit from this advancement as well, they can still run and do what they normally do. It leads me to wonder where this will take us next. Could there eventually be a prosthetic liver or heart?
I believe that hearts are grossly underestimated. The power of what a heart can do is unfathomable. The picture that depicts the heart's muscle is incredible and is pretty much just awesome. The fact that muscles can grow back, divided and stronger is simply amazing. Hearts are something that are quite fascinating and in our society are taken for granted. They do so much in our bodies most don't even know everything. Basically hearts are just awesome.
The ingenuity of man has taken us so very, very far. This picture doesn't even look like a tunnel!!! The sheer scope of this build must have been absolutely crazy. The man standing at the bottom looks minuscule in comparison. My first thought was that this was a depiction of a time vortex. Except then I realized there was a man standing at the bottom. Thus ends that theory. But anyways, quite a crazy picture.
I liked the picture of the tube nosed bat. I thought it was cute in really strange and unconventional way. I don't understand why they put in the same category as so many awesome scientific breakthroughs. The really only interesting thing about it was it's strangely shaped nostrils.
Those pictures are insane! It's funny to think about all things that are going on that we don't know about. I never even knew about those monkey things in New Zealand or that we have made ping-pong playing robots, that was my favorite! There are so many new things happening in the world. I want to invent an app that beeps everytime something new and cool is invented.
Is it bad that I am considering chopping my cats legs off so she can have prosthetic legs? Megan Becker and I think it is amazing that these photographs can capture life in ways that we never thought possible. From the florescent sea creatures to the tubed nosed bat. Not only do these photos show extreme advancement in photography, but also in technology. We are still confused as to why we need robots... Its truly amazing though how fast our lives are progressing, if this is considered our future just think about what the next future will be like.
Picture #18: I am amazed by this picture. It zooms in on the cells of our heart muscles which is something I have never seen before. The fact that this picture captures the cells separating to replenish is amazing! I am always interested by the body and I love learning new things about our muscles, especially the heart!
I thought the pictures of Dubai in 2000 and 2010 were amazing. The amount of development is more than anything I have ever seen. Giant island sculptures were even built to add beach-front for the multi-million and billionaires that live there.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite pic was the Yoda bat. I believe that "Yoda Bat should be its official name. I want one of these bats as a pet.
ReplyDeleteIt is incredible how we now have prosthetics for
ReplyDeleteanimals now. To think that cats can have new limbs
is amazing. It also looks really funny as well.
